The president of The Republic of Congo Denis Sassou-Nguesso Visited StarTimes 2014-06-26 00:00:00   source:

During the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between The Republic of Congo and China, the president of The Republic of Congo Denis Sassou-Nguesso visited China. On June 12, Chinese president Xi Jinping and the president of The Republic of Congo Denis Sassou-Nguesso held a meeting at the Great Hall of the People. They spoke highly of the traditional friendship and cooperation fruits between the two countries, expressed the willingness to continue to carry out cooperation on trade and economy, infrastructure, etc., to promote the relation between the two countries, and constantly advance Sino-African new-type strategic partnership through common effort.

On the morning of June 13, escorted by leaders from the Protocol Department of Chinese Foreign Ministry, the Congolese delegation of over 30 representatives which was leaded by President Denis Sassou-Nguesso, visited StarTimes Group in BDA. StarTimes’ president Pang Xinxing and all the senior executives lined up in front of the gate and expressed warm welcome. As the Red Flag limousine drove in, young employees from StarTimes called out in French: “Bienvenu a StarTimes!”and presented flowers to the president and other guests.

In the VIP meeting room, Mr. Pang first asked president to watch StarTimes corporate video, and briefly introduced the development history of the company, and its DTV operation in 12 African countries. Then he emphasized that StarTimes has already established subsidiary company in the Republic of Congo, and will probably begin operation before the end of this year. Mr. Pang marked that president’s visit to StarTimes will help promote cooperation in Radio & TV industry. After the presentation, president Sassou expressed congratulations to StarTimes’development in recent years, especially its achievements in African DTV industry. He hopes that StarTimes’business in the Republic of Congo grows faster and better to enrich the people’s spiritual and cultural life.

After the meeting, accompanied by Mr. Pang, President Sassou visited the play-out and control center, studio and dubbing room, and watched next-generation multi-service platform and terminal products developed by StarTimes at the Research Institute. Inside the newly-built courtyard, Mr. Pang presented paper cuts of portrait of the president which shows Chinese traditional paper cutting technique. The president accepted the gift with delight.

In the midday, Mr. Pang invited the president and Congolese delegation to join the luncheon at the courtyard. After that, they took a group photo.
